Description
Large 19th Century Walnut pedestal writing desk in excellent condition, with 9 smoothly running drawers and working key. This delightful desk has a central locking mechanism which offers a high degree of security. The central writing area is further supported by 2 pull out slides with matching leather inserts; ideal when extra space is needed at close quarters! A substantial and very useful home office or business desk, with good lines and a very solid construction. it could make paperwork a greater pleasure.This desk also has what is known as a "vanity Panel" which is great for centre of the room positioning, stopping a draft and removing an unwanted visual aspect. The handles are solid brass and are the originals. We have refurbished this pedestal desk, cleaned and polished where needed. Finally wax polished, it is shown here in excellent condition and ready to use.
The Dimensions are length 63 ins, depth 35 ins and a height of 30 ins. The 2 outer writing sections measure 28 ins x 17 ins. The knee hole dimensions are 24 ins high and 25 ins wide. The desk easily dismantles into 3 sections.
