Very attractive Mahogany Secetaire Bookcase in great original condition. English. C 1830.This delightful bookcase has been really well maintained. The figured veneers are superb and the entire bookcase has a mellow antique patina. This bookcase stands on a plinth base. There are 2 doors above the plinth and a pull out drawer containing the secretaire and writing surface. There are 6 drawers, pigeon holes and a Burgundy leather writing surface. A working key is included. Height 96.5" depth 23" Width 47"
The top section of this delightful Bookcase has 6 original glass panes which give a superb period reflection. Behind these doors are 4 sturdy and adjustable book shelves which are 10"deep and give plenty of book options.
Shown here in excellent condition, we have lightly refurbished and simply wax polished to show off the beauty and mellow patination of the timber.
