This bucket has its original brass liner and handles.
It is known as a peat bucket because of its height and boat-like shape.
Peat buckets were designed to carry fuel, such as coal, from room to room and were designed to sit by a fireplace. They were originally designed in Ireland.
Today, this bucket would make for a very stylish waste paper bin or planter.
