ANTIQUE EXERCISE BIKE
An amazing purpose built 'Exercise Bicycle' from the 1920's or 1930's.

Originally built by Spencer's of Enfield who as 'Spencer, Heath and George, Ponders End, Middx.' made exercise machines used on several ocean liners, including the Titanic....

It has been painstakingly restored to a very high standard. Re chromed where necessary, with all the moving parts dismantled and refurbished if required. The frame, manufactured to a high standard with brazed joints, has been powdered coated.

An unusual, and definitely eccentric ! 19th Century Jardiniere stand.

A Mahogany triform base supporting three deer legs....the stand terminates in a platform with a groove,in which sits a magnificent Chinese Bell Brass and Champleve enamel vessel of compressed globular form.

MARITIME PIETRA DURA PAPERWEIGHT
A Rare, if not Unique, marble and Pietra Dura 19th Century Paperweight with British Naval connections, probably Italian in manufacture.

The central motif is of an Ostritch with a horseshoe in it's beak.
Ostriches were apparently supposed to eat iron, hence the heraldic representation.
Also with the Latin motto "DUM SPIRO SPERO" - "While I breathe, I hope".

One edge is inscribed 'HMS Ocean' launched in Devonport in 1863 and in the Mediterranean in 1867 en route to the Far East.

The opposite edge inscribed 'Mitylene 1867', that being a port and the Capital of the Greek island of Lesbos.

Wear to the edges and a number of surface scratches as would be expected.

Nicely carved Ivory stand with a few faults as per photographs, a little shrinkage, a small crack in the front of crest and a small chip off the rear.
